Retired Red Sox Right Fielder Trot Nixon to Speak in Newport

Former Red Sox World Champion Right Fielder Trot Nixon and four-time X Games gold medalist Kevin Robinson (K-Rob) will speak at the New England Festival of Hope held at Easton’s Beach in Newport, RI on Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Trot’s wife and children’s book author Kathryn Nixon will round out the speakers for the second annual event.

The inspiring lineup of speakers will provide “Words of Hope During Turbulent Times” at the second annual ocean front event. Family friendly, the festival will include the live music of local New England artists, an exciting BMX demo with K-Rob and Team Impact, free popcorn and cotton candy, as well as a variety of children’s activities. Admission is completely free and all are welcome to attend.

“As we approach the summer’s end, we are inviting all families to join us at the beach to celebrate.” says Paul Hoffman, pastor of Evangelical Friends Church of Newport. “The festival provides an opportunity to join our communities together as we look towards the fall with hope and encouragement.”

The Festival of Hope is sponsored by neighboring New England churches: Evangelical Friends Church of Newport, Calvary United Methodist Church, Christ Church, Crosspoint Church, First Presbyterian Church, Graceway Community Church, Middletown Baptist Church, Mount Hope Church, Portsmouth Evangelical Friends Church, Portsmouth United Methodist Church and Salvation Army Newport.

EFC Newport is a contemporary church located at 70 Bliss Mine Road in Middletown, RI. For more information, visit www.efcnewport.com or call 401-847-1490.
