Free. Visitors are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to fill the sleigh for local food pantries.
2 – Newport Nutcracker at Rosecliff (Friday 7:30pm)
3 – Reggae Fridays at Tavern On Broadway with Natural Element (Friday – 9pm)
Come check out one of Rhode Island’s premier reggae acts performing roots reggae, modern reggae and dub at one of Newport, RI’s hottest new venues.
4 – Live Music At One Bellevue At Hotel Viking With The Playboys (Friday 7pm)

5 – Live Jazz at Greenvale Vineyards (Saturday 1pm -4pm)
What has great wine, a fun crowd, and live music? Greenvale Vineyards does every Saturday afternoon through December 13th!

6 – Holiday Lantern Tour (Saturday 4:30pm)
Hear the history of early American holiday traditions on an evening walk and learn how colonial Newporters recognized the holiday. Reservations suggested as space is limited. Enjoy hot mulled cider and a tasting of Stonewall Kitchen flavors at the Brick Market: Museum & Shop; runs from 4pm-6pm.
7 – 45th Annual Bowen’s Wharf Tree Lighting and Open House (Saturday 5:45pm)
Frosty the Snowman and caroling starting at 4:30p.m. City official lights the tree, Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive by boat (weather permitting) at 5:45p.m. Live Music. Free. 849-2120.
8 – Live Music At One Bellevue At Hotel Viking With Half Step Down (Saturday 7pm)
One Bellevue is making a huge push in the live music scene in Newport, RI with live music every Tuesday – Saturday.
9 – 80’s Night at Norey’s Star Restaurant (Saturday – 7pm)
Each and every Saturday night Norey’s plays all of your favorite 80’s music videos. Each week this ends up becoming absolute sing-along dance-a-thon.
Sunday:
10 – Sunday Brunch
- Brunch at Tavern on Broadway (10am – 2pm) The price of your entree includes a bloody, a mimosa or the drink of your choice!!!
11 – Tools of the Trade: Coggeshall Demonstration and Exhibit at the Armory Antiques Marketplace (Sunday 1-3pm)
Coggeshall Farm Museum will present “Tools of the Trade,” a demonstration of 18th-century woodworking techniques and a display of historic hand tools from the museum’s Bornstein Collection, on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 1 to 3 pm, at the Armory Antiques Marketplace, 365 Thames Street in Newport. Coggeshall will also be selling honey and maple syrup from its own bees and trees.
12 – Visit with Santa Claus at the Breakers (Sunday noon-3 pm)
The jolly old elf will visit with children and hear their Christmas wish list. Refreshments. Regular daytime admission. For info. 847-1000.
