On December 28th at 10AM, The Gurney’s Newport Skating Rink will open on the resort’s expansive North Lawn, located at 1 Goat Island. Open through February, guests and locals alike can glide across the ice while taking in unobstructed views of the famed Newport Bridge and Newport Harbor Lighthouse, decorated for the festive season. Programming for locals including College Day, Family Day, and Disco Nights will be scheduled throughout the season. The ice will also be available for Private Parties and Corporate Team Skates. The ice rink at Gurney’s Newport is open daily for guests, visitors and locals from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults and skate rentals are $5.
For some warmth after skating, visit the hot chocolate bar in the lobby, with a variety of everyone’s favorite toppings. For the ultimate Apres-Skate experience, stop by the Regent Lounge for a brand-new seasonal menu, offering menu items such as classic cheese fondue, chili cornbread and stout braised short rib poutine, and cocktails like Naughty Hot Chocolate, Spiked Cider, Mexican Coffee and a Fig Cosmo. For kids, the Aprés-Skate menu includes classics like mac n’ cheese, grilled cheese and chicken tenders with fries.
