It has been quite the year for sea life in Rhode Island waters. Last spring we had sightings of beluga whales all over Narragansett Bay. one, two, three and there were hundreds of common dolphin in the fall. one, two.
Now we have humpback whales cruising around the bay.
We had the amazing shots of the humpback breeching just after Christmas. Just a few days ago the Narragansett Bay blog brought us these photos of a humpback off of Quonsett.
And today we received this photo taken by Brian Murphy, a local clam digger who spotted the humpback off of Rocky Point!
Just a banner year for sea life in our waters.
And let’s not forget about all of the great whites on Cape Cod!!!
