A 20-year-old Portsmouth, RI man is dead after his car struck a tree on Turnpike Avenue just after 6:30pm Tuesday night in Portsmouth. Portsmouth Police say that the man was traveling south on Turnpike Avenue when he crossed the center line and crashed into a tree on the opposite side of the road.
Portsmouth Fire Department transported the man to St. Anne’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of the accident is under investigation and the victim’s name has not yet been released until his family is notified.
