Matt Reid (AUS)/John-Patrick Smith (AUS) squeaked past Purav Raja (IND)/Divij Sharan (IND) (4) 7-6, 7-6; Sam Groth (AUS)/Leander Paes (IND) bested Wesley Koolhof (NED)/Artem Sitak (NZL) 6-4, 6-4.
In singles results, (Q) Matthew Ebden (AUS) upset Tobias Kamke (GER) 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4 and Peter Gojowczyk (GER) eliminated defending champion Ivo Karlovic (CR0) (2) 7-65, 61-7, 7-64.
