In a battle of former Newport champions, Rajeev Ram saved a match point and defeated top-seed two-time champion John Isner, 6-7 (5), 6-3, 7-6 (8) at the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships.
Isner is the top ranked American in the world at #18, Ram is ranked #161.
In a post match press conference Isner offered no excuses, he said he “simply didn’t play well enough to win.”
