Kristen McEvoy, 46, of Portsmouth died Saturday, May 7, 2016 at home in Portsmouth.
Mrs. McEvoy was born July 9, 1969 in Newport, RI. She is the daughter of Elaine (Segerson) Schwartz and the late Jerold Schwartz.
She was married to James McEvoy for 18 years.
Kristen was an avid tennis player, playing in high school and college, and was captain on both teams. She also loved playing softball. She worked for Child and Family Services in Newport for over 20 years. She loved working with children and loved animals.
Kristen was a loving, caring and devoted mother, and built her life around raising her boys, who were the most important people in her life. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s church and taught CCD there.
She is survived by her husband James McEvoy and her two sons, Cameron and Aidan, her mother Elaine (Segerson) Schwartz of Portsmouth, and her siblings Kenneth Schwartz and his wife Jennifer of Middletown, Jerold Schwartz of Las Vegas, NV and Stacey Omishakin and her husband Gabriel of Providence, RI. She also leaves her mother in law Maureen McEvoy and her brother in law Robert McEvoy and his wife Sarah and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday May 11, 2016 at 10:00 am in St. Anthony Church, 2836 East Main Road in Portsmouth. Burial will be private.
