The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy ID’d How Many Great Whites This Season?!?!

The 2015 Atlantic white shark research season officially wrapped up on November 3rd and the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, working with Dr. Greg Skomal of the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries, announced that they identified 120 great white sharks this season in the waters off of Cape Cod (80+ new and 40 recaps).  24 white sharks were tagged, there were 3 white shark strandings, one successful rescue, and the team captured the first image of a white shark breaching off the coast of Cape Cod while hunting seals!

Wait a second. Wait just one damn second? 120?!?!?! And those were only the ones they could find. Umm. we have a lot of great white sharks.

Cool! 🙂
