Remember a couple of months ago when we wrote about the pothole tweeting device that would alert city officials to the Beirut like conditions of Newport’s streets?
Well it seems that our voice has been heard because the City of Newport just released a new smartphone app that can essentially do just that!
Not only can Newporters send in notices about our potholes big enough to swallow VW Bugs but we can also let the city know about problems with road signs, sidewalks, snow removal and more!

The City of Newport is committed to developing opportunities that will increase and encourage citizen involvement and engagement. Our Report It! Newport tool leverages advancing mobile and desktop technologies to provide citizens with a simple means to report an issue such as a pothole or graffiti. The Newport Public Services team will monitor and address the items reported through use of this application during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. The City of Newport plans to expand the use of Report It! Newport to other city departments as use of and interest in the application grows. Share your new Report It!
